Hi Brynda,

I am one of the on again off again lurkers.... I seldom come out, but what you wrote sounded very familliar to me, and I just had to comment. I may be wrong here, I often am, but i don't understand why you went to such lengths to exsplain, and nearly apologise for your size.

I remember having this basic conversation on the phone and online, with many different gentlemen, when I was new to size acceptance. At that time I was still feeling kinda bad about my weight, but trying to work through it. I often came off as either militant or apologetic in circumstances where neither was necissary. I tended to jump the gun and think that they aren't going to like me so I am going to let them know right up front that I don't like them either. Looking back, I think that I probably scared off some really nice guys.

It took me quite a while to realize that very few people cared what I weighed. The guys that I was really interested in were either into who I was, or just liked cute blondes... When I finally relaxed, and just started relating to the guys like any other girl, I found that I didn't get the negative responses that I had anticipated. When asked for my pic, instead of writing a long exsplaination of what I looked like,and what bridge they could throw themselves from if they didn't like it... (lol) I just started sending them the D@mn pic! It was amazing... Over a year now, and I haven't received one overly negative response. Sure there have been guys who said that I wasn't their type... But hey, fair is fair, and I have done that myself. People are attracted to different things, and that is cool with me.

LOL Well, I meant to type a few lines, and ended up writing a book! I hope that you take this post in the spirit that it is intended... I am not trying to criticize your technique. It just wasn't right for me.
