In Response To: Im going to stay a mystery!! Hee hee! (Victoria)

Say it ain't so. You look like me? Poor dear. ;-) hehehe.

The internet/web is a great big wonderful place with a bazillion photos of people. Some big, some small. Some cute some not so. Some black, some white. I find myself wandering to different personal sites just looking at the people. I find it fascinating. We're all different, and that's very coolio. We all have different lives to lead, but there are so many commonalities. (Take the chair in my most recent photo - *tink* has the same darned chair!)

No matter what you do, in real life or on the net, there will be those who wish to make fun of you for your size or for your hair or for your nose or for your clothes. It's just the way humans behave. We find those who are unlike us and we notice those differences. We concentrate on them and then we realize that there are similarities. For some, the focus on the differences never subsides. They are so overwhelmingly obsessed with the differences that they see as 'substandard' that they make fun of said difference. This is not a common thing with adults. We (hopefully all of us here) have grown beyond the "point and laugh" phase. Anyway, I have a point somewhere. :-) If you put your photos on the net 99% of the folks who look will see you and accept your image as just another member of the world community. They may be inspired, see themselves and welcome you with open arms.

Being able to inspire others by posting a simple photo is such a great experience. So much so that any negative attention seems so very inconsequential. For gawd sakes, we have all gone through our lives with negative attention now and then. We've survived it, and have been stronger for it. What difference does it make if it's on the web or in 'real' life? The only difference on the internet is that you don't have control over where your image goes, and you can't overhear the comments being said. So what?!? Does it change who I am? No. Does it change how I feel about myself? No. Do my friends/family think less of me? No.

Don't let negativity control what you wish to do. You said you were going to post your pics, but now, just because of this new site you're not going to post it?? You're giving them waaaay too much power.

Bottom line -- We wanna see your smiling face!!! :-)

On another note:

I have visited the fatchicksinpartyhats site several times. Obviously it's negative attention for fat, gay or height-challenged individuals, but so is so much of the comedy that we see on television or on other websites. There were several comments under the photos that made me laugh. Yes, I admit it. I can laugh at a fat joke now and then. The absurdity of some of the statements got me going a couple of times. However, most of the photo comments weren't funny. The site isn't *that* good. Sorry, Miguel, your english needs improvement and your comedy styling needs tweaking.
